Ft Oglethorpe, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Collision on Battlefield Pkwy
Fort Oglethorpe, GA (November 30, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place on the evening of Tuesday, November 29, in Fort Oglethorpe.
According to Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened at 8:45 p.m. at 2847 Battlefield Parkway. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was traveling on his Harley Davidson on the highway when he was suddenly struck in the rear by a pickup truck that was later identified as a Ford F-250. After the accident, the driver of the pickup truck fled the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has since been identified as a 51-year-old man, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries caused by the accident.
Police searched for the driver of the pickup truck and found him within several hours of the accident. They have not formally released the identity of the suspect or their charges at this time.
