Forsyth, GA – Three Injured in Tractor-Trailer Collision on I-75
Forsyth, GA (December 15, 2022) – Three people sustained injuries as a result of a tractor-trailer accident that took place in Forsyth on Thursday morning, December 15.
According to Monroe County officials, the accident happened around 4 a.m. on I-75. Police confirmed that a tractor-trailer was traveling in the area when the driver lost control on the wet roads, causing their vehicle to hydroplane and block a lane of traffic. Another tractor-trailer came along and ran into that truck when they were unable to stop in time. Two more tractor-trailers were then unable to stop, slamming into the first two. One of the vehicles overturned, and 300 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the highway.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Three of the four drivers involved in the crash sustained injuries in the accident. The injured victims were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes until approximately 8 a.m. when police had fully cleared the scene.
No further details have been released, but the investigation remains ongoing. Police will update with more information as it is made available.
We offer our warmest thoughts and prayers to the parties who have been hurt as a result of this accident.
