Forsyth, GA – One Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on N Frontage Rd
Forsyth, GA (November 13, 2021) – At 8:10 p.m. on Friday night, November 12, a fatal pedestrian crash occurred in Forsyth.
According to the Forsyth Police Department, the accident happened on North Frontage Road around the America’s Best Inn. A driver of a Ford Focus was traveling in the area when the driver lost control due to unknown reasons, traveling off the side of the road. The driver struck a pedestrian who was walking in the area. The vehicle then ran into a tree on the side of the road.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, identified as a 38-year-old woman, was severely injured and rushed to Monroe County Hospital. She was tragically pronounced dead while there.
The driver of the Ford has since been identified as a 79-year-old woman. She remained at the scene, though it is not known if she was hurt.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
