Flowery Branch, GA – School Bus Accident on HF Reed Industrial Pkwy
Flowery Branch, GA (February 4, 2022) – Injuries were reported in an accident involving a school bus in Flowery Branch on Thursday morning, February 3.
According to officials, the accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on the HF Reed Industrial Parkway around the area of Martin Road. Police confirmed that a 61-year-old female elementary school bus driver was headed east on the highway. At the same time, a 20-year-old woman was in her Audi headed west in a left turning lane. Both of the drivers had a green arrow and attempted to make a left turn. This is when they were struck by a 73-year-old man in a Ford Ranger. The vehicles all sustained damages as a result of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The 73-year-old driver sustained minor injuries and his 74-year-old female passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries. The bus driver and the driver of the Audi were both injured but are also expected to be okay. There was one student on the school bus but they did not sustain injuries.
The 73-year-old Ranger driver was cited in the accident for failing to obey a traffic device.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
