Flowery Branch, GA – Fatal Head-on Collision on Spout Springs Rd
Flowery Branch, GA (December 13, 2021) – At 12:15 p.m. on the afternoon of Saturday, December 11, a fatal head-on collision occurred in Flowery Branch.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened on Spout Springs Road just south of Williams Road. Police confirmed that a 39-year-old woman was traveling south in the area when she suddenly crossed the center line due to reasons that are not yet known. Her vehicle then collided with a minivan being driven by a local 54-year-old man. The vehicles sustained extensive damage due to the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Both of the drivers were taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. The driver of the minivan was tragically pronounced dead while there.
The driver who went over the center line is currently facing charges due to the accident. The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
