Fairburn, GA – Multi-Vehicle Crash with Injuries in SB Lanes of I-85
Fairburn, GA (January 12, 2022) – Police confirmed that a severe multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred on Wednesday morning, January 12, in Fairburn.
Local officials confirmed that the crash happened at 9:41 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the area of exit 61, Senoia Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to forcefully collide with each other. The involved vehicles were badly damaged due to the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their identities and conditions are not yet known.
All lanes except the furthest left lane was open following the accident. Police urged those in the area to use Highway 29 as an alternate route until the scene was cleared.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues at this time.
