Ellijay, GA – Two-Vehicle Collision with Injuries at GA-52 & Ridgemont Dr
Ellijay, GA (October 23, 2022) – Two vehicles were involved in an accident that led to injuries at an intersection in Ellijay on Friday morning, October 21.
According to Gilmer County officials, the accident happened around 10:37 a.m. at the intersection of GA-52 and Ridgemont Drive. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, causing them to collide with each other. The involved vehicles were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more parties were injured in the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment by medical helicopter, though their conditions are not yet known.
One lane of traffic was blocked in the area of the accident for some time following the collision. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
