Ellijay, GA – Two-Car Accident with Injuries on GA-52 Leads to Injuries
Ellijay, GA (July 5, 2021) – At 3 p.m. on Monday afternoon, July 5, a two-car accident with injuries occurred on a roadway in Ellijay.
According to Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office deputies, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of GA-52 around the area of BJ Reece Apple House. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of unknown injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police urged those in the area to use a different route until they cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
