Ellijay, GA – Car Accident with Injuries at GA-52 & Owl Town Rd
Ellijay, GA (June 13, 2021) – On Sunday afternoon, June 13, a car accident with serious injuries occurred at an intersection in Ellijay.
According to Gilmer County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-52 and Owl Town Road. Three vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time. This caused extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene. Several parties were trapped in their vehicles and were extricated by fire crews. They received serious injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment of these injuries. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals by medical helicopter.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for some time. Police urged those in the area to use alternate routes until the scene was cleared.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
