Ellabell, GA – School Bus Accident with Injuries at GA-204 & White Rd
Ellabell, GA (September 14, 2021) – On Monday afternoon, September 13, a school bus accident occurred at an intersection in Ellabell.
According to Bryan County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-204 and White Road. A school bus was making a turn from 204 onto White when an SUV was unable to stop in time, slamming into the back of the bus. The SUV sustained severe front-end damage due to the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. A total of 12 students were on the school bus at the time. A 14-year-old child on the school bus obtained a head injury and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The driver of the SUV sustained a leg injury and was also hospitalized.
Due to the severity of the accident, a portion of the intersection was blocked in the area for some time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
