Eatonton, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on GA-24
Eatonton, GA (October 21, 2021) – On Thursday, October 21, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Eatonton.
According to Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of GA-24. A 35-year-old man was walking around the right lane when he was struck by a pickup truck traveling in the area. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene to cooperate with the police.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The 35-year-old man was severely injured in the collision. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt. He claimed that he saw the pedestrian but was unable to stop in time.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
