East Cobb, GA – Man Killed, One Injured in Motorcycle Accident at Roswell & Providence Rds
East Cobb, GA (June 18, 2021) – A Marietta man died after a motorcycle crash occurred on Thursday evening, June 17.
Authorities say that the 58-year-old man’s motorcycle crashed with a car on Roswell Road near Providence Road in the East Cobb area. Cobb Police said that the man was pronounced dead at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital after being transported following the crash.
The man was traveling westbound on Roswell on a BMW R1200 RT when a Lincoln MKX, driven by a 22-year-old woman from Marietta, attempted a left turn onto Providence Road. The woman hit the motorcyclist around 6:50 p.m., according to police, and the man was thrown from his bike on contact. The Lincoln’s driver also collided with a Toyota Tundra waiting at a red traffic light on Providence.
The Lincoln’s driver was not injured but her 16-year-old male passenger sustained minor injuries. The Toyota’s driver and their three passengers did not require treatment.
Police said the wreck remains under investigation at this time and anyone with information should contact the Cobb Police Department.
