E Point, GA – Injuries Reported in Tractor-Trailer Collision on I-285
East Point, GA (October 21, 2021) – On Thursday morning, October 21, a tractor-trailer collision with injuries occurred in East Point.
According to local police, the accident happened on I-285 around the area of Washington Road. A truck hauling a flatbed with lumber on the back was traveling in the area around 10:30 a.m. when it struck another tractor-trailer hauling candles. A silver SUV was traveling between the two vehicles and was pinned in between them. It is believed that a third tractor-trailer was also involved in the crash. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One of the tractor-trailer drivers received burns but is expected to make a recovery. Minor injuries were reported in other parties.
Due to the severity of the accident, all southbound lanes of traffic were blocked until approximately 3:20 p.m. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
