E Point, GA – Car Crash in SB Lanes of I-85 Near Virginia Ave
East Point, GA (August 21, 2021) – At 9:41 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, August 21, a car crash with injuries occurred on a highway in East Point.
According to Fulton County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the area of exit 76, Virginia Avenue. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their identities and conditions are not yet known.
Two left lanes of traffic were blocked for some time following the crash. Police urged those in the area to use I-75 as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
