E Point, GA – Car Accident with Injuries on I-85 Near Virginia Ave
East Point, GA (July 29, 2021) – At 6:49 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, July 29, a car accident with injuries occurred in East Point.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-85 around the area of Virginia Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to collide with one another. The vehicles involved in the crash were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their identities and conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked in the area for some time. This led to delays until police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
