East Point, GA (January 11, 2022) – On the morning of Tuesday, January 11, a car accident with injuries occurred on a major highway in East Point.
The accident, according to police, took place at 7:56 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Camp Creek Parkway. Several vehicles were traveling in the northbound lanes when they collided with each other due to unknown reasons. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for some time. This led to delays until police cleared the scene.
