E Dublin, GA – Two Killed in Fatal ATV Crash on Robert Plummer Rd
East Dublin, GA (August 9, 2021) – Around 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, August 7, two people were killed in a fatal ATV crash in East Dublin.
According to Laurens County officials, the accident happened on Robert Plummer Road. Witnesses said that multiple people were riding bikes and four-wheelers on the road that day. It is believed that one of the drivers of an ATV was involved in a crash and struck a pedestrian who was spectating on the side of the road. The spectator was identified as a 37-year-old man and a 24-year-old man was operating the ATV.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the ATV was rushed to the hospital. He was pronounced dead at the Macon hospital.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
