Dunwoody, GA – Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident at Vermack Rd & Parliament Dr
Dunwoody, GA (June 18, 2021) – A man has died after a fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, June 16, in DeKalb County.
Per reports from authorities, the 82-year-old Dunwoody man was hit by a car at the intersection of Vermack Road and Parliament Drive around 5:30 p.m. Dunwoody Police officers and DeKalb County Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene and found the man unresponsive on the ground.
Officers and bystanders began life-saving measures prior to the arrival of EMS. Paramedics transported the victim to an area medical center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle involved, an 83-year-old Sandy Springs resident, stopped and cooperated with officers. The investigation is ongoing, however, and police have asked that anyone with information regarding the wreck contact Dunwoody Police Officer Guinevere Wiencek.
