Dublin, GA – Officer Injured in Car Accident on Hillcrest Pkwy
Dublin, GA (July 29, 2021) – At 2:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, July 29, an officer and one other party were injured in a car accident in Dublin.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened on the Hillcrest Parkway around the area of Brookhaven Drive. The officer was in his cruiser and running a laser in the area. A driver in a pickup truck was driving in the area when they suddenly ran off the side of the road, striking the cruiser. The vehicles both went off the side of the road and ended up stopping in the woods.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene. Both the officer and the driver of the pickup truck were seriously injured. They were airlifted to local hospitals for treatment.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked in the area for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
