Douglasville, GA – One Injured in Truck Crash Involving Train at Atlanta Hwy
Douglasville, GA (October 19, 2021) – On Tuesday, October 19, a truck crash involving a train at an intersection in Douglasville.
According to Barrow County officials, the accident happened around the area of Atlanta Highway and Bankhead Highway on the train tracks. When crews arrived at the scene, they found that a tractor-trailer was struck by a train. The trailer portion came off of the truck and rolled onto its side. This led to extensive damages to both vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person in the tractor-trailer was injured and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. Their condition is not known at this time.
The area was blocked in the area for a period of time as police cleared the scene.
