Demorest, GA – Two Injured in Car Crash at GA-365 & Demorest Mt Airy Hwy
Demorest, GA (July 23, 2022) – Two people were injured in a car accident that took place at an intersection in Demorest on Friday afternoon, July 22.
According to police in Demorest, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-365 and Demorest Mt. Airy Highway. Police confirmed that a 57-year-old woman was driving a Dodge Durango headed north on the highway in the left turning lane. She started to make a left turn at the intersection when her vehicle was struck by a Chrysler Touring sedan headed south. The two vehicles were extensively damaged as a result of the accident.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Chrysler, identified as a 28-year-old woman, was injured in the accident. The driver of the Durango was also hospitalized with injuries but is expected to be okay.
The roadway was blocked in the area for several hours as police worked to clear the scene. This led to delays until the scene was fully cleared by police.
