Decatur, GA – Injuries Reported After Three Vehicles Collide on I-285 at Memorial Dr
Decatur, GA (August 4, 2021) – At 10:00 p.m. in the evening of Wednesday, August 4, a car accident with injuries occurred on a major highway in Decatur.
According to local officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of Interstate 285 inner around the area of Memorial Drive (exit 41). Police confirmed that three vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not yet known.
All three cars were shown pulled onto the side of the highway with severe damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time until police were able to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
