Decatur, GA – Teen Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Flat Shoals Pkwy
Decatur, GA (September 1, 2021) – On Wednesday morning, September 1, a teen was killed in a pedestrian accident in Decatur.
According to DeKalb County Police, the accident happened on Flat Shoals Parkway around the area of the Orchard Walk Apartments. A 15-year-old boy was entering the complex around 2 a.m. when he was struck by a passenger vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene of the crash without stopping. Police believe that the vehicle will have damage to its passenger side.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash as a result of traumatic injuries. Nobody else was injured in the accident.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked in the area for some time.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
