Decatur, GA – Rollover Accident on I-20 Near Wesley Chapel Rd
Decatur, GA (July 15, 2021) – At 2 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, July 15, a rollover accident occurred in Decatur.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-20 around the area of exit 68, Wesley Chapel Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with one another, causing one of the vehicles to immediately flip over. The vehicles involved in the crash were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes for a period of time until police were able to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues.
