Decatur, GA – Red Alert Issued for Car Accident with Injuries on I-20
Decatur, GA (December 30, 2021) – A car accident in Decatur on Thursday morning, December 30, resulted in injuries to one or more victims.
The accident, which took place in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Panola Road, happened around 12:20 a.m. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not yet known in the westbound lanes. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. Several victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Due to the severity of the accident, all lanes of traffic were blocked in the area. Police urged those in the area to use Covington Highway as an alternate route.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
