Decatur, GA – Pedestrian Crash at Springs Lake Dr & Columbia Rd
Decatur, GA (December 3, 2021) – At 6:37 a.m. on the morning of Friday, December 3, a pedestrian crash occurred at an intersection in Decatur.
According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Springs Lake Drive and Columbia Road. A pedestrian was walking in the area when they started to cross the road near the intersection. The pedestrian was struck by a passenger vehicle that allegedly remained at the scene of the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was seriously injured in the accident. Their current condition is not yet known.
Due to the severity of the crash, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for some time. This led to delays until police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
