Decatur, GA – One Killed in Fatal Crash at Candler Rd & McAfee Rd
Decatur, GA (April 26, 2021) – On Sunday, April 25, a fatal crash took place at an intersection in Decatur that led to injuries.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of Candler Road and McAfee Road. The incident began when an officer started to pull over a Nissan Rogue on I-20. The Rogue fled down the highway and led the officer on a pursuit.
The Rogue exited the highway and cut through a parking lot toward the intersection with Candler Road and McAfee Road. This is where it struck a Camry that was waiting at the intersection to make a left turn. The Rogue hit the Camry so forcefully that it was pushed into an F-150, which struck several other vehicles.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The driver of the Camry, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
