Decatur, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision in EB Lanes of I-20
Decatur, GA (June 28, 2021) – Around 2:09 p.m. on the afternoon of Monday, June 28, a multi-vehicle collision with injuries occurred in Decatur.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Candler Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing a severe collision between the involved vehicles. This led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in two right lanes for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene. Police urged those in the area to use Glenwood Avenue and Memorial Drive as alternate routes.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
