Decatur, GA – Car Crash with Injuries at Covington Hwy & S Hairston Rd
Decatur, GA (August 29, 2021) – At 6:36 p.m. on the evening of Sunday, August 29, a car crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in Decatur.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Covington Highway and South Hairston Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, causing them to forcefully collide. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the collision. The unidentified parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
All but one lane of traffic was blocked in the area until police were able to clear the scene. Police urged those in the area to use Redan Road as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
