Decatur, GA – Car Crash at Covington Hwy & Young Rd Intersection
Decatur, GA (September 22, 2021) – At 5:19 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, September 22, a car crash with injuries occurred in Decatur.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Covington Highway and Young Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time. This caused the vehicles to collide forcefully with one another. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were injured in the crash. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time, which led to extensive delays.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
