Decatur, GA – Collision at Covington Hwy & S Hairston Rd leaves Victims Injured
Decatur, GA (August 5, 2021) – At 6:51 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, August 5, a car crash occurred at an intersection in Decatur.
According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Covington Highway and South Hairston Road. Two vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, colliding with each other forcefully. One of the vehicles crashed into the back of the other. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the right lane for a period of time until police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
