Decatur, GA – Car Accident with Injuries on I-285 Near Memorial Dr
Decatur, GA (July 15, 2021) – At 8:14 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, July 15, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Decatur.
According to local officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Memorial Drive (exit 41). Police confirmed that two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time until police were able to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
