Decatur, GA – Car Accident in SB Lanes of I-285 Near Memorial Dr
Decatur, GA (May 15, 2021) – At 3:24 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, May 15, a car accident occurred on a highway in Decatur.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Memorial Drive. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they were involved in a chain-reaction collision due to unknown reasons. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were hospitalized as a result of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, two left lanes of traffic were blocked for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
