Decatur, GA – Car Accident During Rainy Conditions in WB Lanes of I-20
Decatur, GA (August 17, 2021) – Around 7 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, August 17, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Decatur.
According to police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of exit 65, Candler Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other in rainy conditions. One of the vehicles spun out, which led to extensive damages. The vehicles were removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were injured in the crash. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time, which led to delays in the area for some time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
