Dawsonville, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on GA-400
Dawsonville, GA (December 23, 2021) – At 8:17 p.m. on the night of Saturday, December 18, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Dawsonville.
According to Dawson County officials, the accident happened on GA-400 on the commercial strip of the highway near Beartooth Parkway. A 47-year-old woman was walking in the area when she dropped something on the road. When she bent down to pick it up, she was struck by a vehicle that did not see her in time. The driver of the vehicle pulled over and remained at the scene.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was traumatically injured in the collision. She passed away at the scene before EMS arrived.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for some time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
