Dawson, GA – Two Killed in Fatal Tractor-Trailer Crash on US-82
Dawson, GA (June 9, 2022) – Two people were killed in a fatal tractor-trailer crash that took place on a highway in Dawson on Thursday morning, June 9.
According to local officials, the accident happened at 10 a.m. on US-82. A black Infiniti vehicle and a tractor-trailer became involved in a collision due to reasons that are not fully known. It is believed that the road was slippery due to rain conditions, which caused the two vehicles to collide head-on with each other.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Two people in the passenger vehicle were tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
