Dalton, GA (May 13, 2021) – On Thursday evening, May 13, a tractor-trailer collision took place on a major highway in Dalton.

According to Whitfield County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-75 around the area of Carbondale Road. Two or more vehicles collided in the area, one of which was a tractor-trailer. The vehicles were extensively damaged due to the collision.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hospitalized due to their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes for some time as police cleared the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
