Dalton, GA – Tractor-Trailer Accident with Injuries on S Bypass
Dalton, GA (July 7, 2021) – At 8:24 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, July 7, a tractor-trailer accident with injuries occurred in Dalton.
According to Whitfield County officials, the accident happened on the South Bypass near the area of Five Springs Road. A tractor-trailer was traveling in the area on wet roads when the truck collided with another vehicle in the area. The truck went off the side of the road and was extensively damaged, leaving debris scattered all over the roadway.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. The injured victims are thought to be in serious condition.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
