Dalton, GA – Serious Bicycle Accident at Walnut Ave & Riverbend Rd
Dalton, GA (April 28, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a serious bicycle accident that took place at an intersection in Dalton on Wednesday evening, April 27.
According to local officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Riverbend Road. A bicyclist was traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time as a passenger vehicle. The passenger vehicle collided with the bicyclist. It is believed that the driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The bicyclist, who has not yet been formally identified, was seriously injured in the accident. The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment, though their current condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
