Dalton, GA – Passengers Injured in Rollover Accident on I-75
Dalton, GA (July 28, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a rollover accident that took place on a highway in Dalton on the morning of Tuesday, July 26.
Georgia State Patrol officials confirmed that the accident happened around 4 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 348. A silver Toyota 4Runner was traveling south when the driver, identified as a 16-year-old, lost control due to an alleged blown tire. The vehicle immediately overturned, which led to extensive damages.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene of the accident to help those in need. One passenger was severely injured and rushed to the hospital by medical helicopter. Two other passengers were transported to local hospitals by ambulance and are expected to be okay. All of the victims have since been listed in stable condition.
The roadway was blocked in most southbound lanes of traffic for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
