Dalton, GA – Passenger Injured in Serious Rollover Accident on Airport Rd
Dalton, GA (December 25, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a rollover accident that took place on a roadway in Dalton on the night of Saturday, December 24.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened around 9:55 p.m. on Airport Road. Police confirmed that a 29-year-old man was driving a Nissan Rogue and traveling east on Airport. The driver suddenly left the road, causing the vehicle to crash and overturn. The vehicle ran into a tree and sustained severe damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver was taken to the hospital with a serious leg injury and had to have his leg amputated. His passenger, identified as a 17-year-old minor, sustained broken ankles in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area for some time. Police confirmed that the driver sustained charges of DUI, failure to maintain his lane, and not wearing a seatbelt.
