Dalton, GA – Head-on Collision on Dawnville Rd at Groves Dr
Dalton, GA (June 7, 2021) – Around 7:38 p.m. on the evening of Sunday, June 6, a head-on collision occurred at an intersection in Dalton.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened on Dawnville Road around the area of Groves Drive. A black Toyota was traveling west on Dawnville when it crossed over the center line and struck a maroon Chevrolet head-on. The driver of the Toyota then fled the scene of the crash.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as a 59-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of fatal injuries.
Police are still searching for the driver of the Toyota. Their investigation into the accident continues.
