Dahlonega, GA – One Killed in Fatal Accident on S Chestatee St
Dahlonega, GA (August 18, 2021) – On Tuesday, August 17, one person was killed in a fatal accident on a roadway in Dahlonega.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened on South Chestatee Street in front of the local Yahoola Creek Grill. A car was traveling in the area in rainy conditions when the vehicle crossed over the center line and struck the front of a pickup truck. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another party was rushed to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
