Cusseta, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Tractor-Trailer Crash at US-27 & US-280
Cusseta, GA (December 23, 2021) – Around 7 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, December 23, a man was killed in a fatal tractor-trailer crash in Cusseta.
According to Chattahoochee County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of US-27 and US-280. A semi-truck and at least one other vehicle were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. At least one person was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. It is not known if anyone else was hurt in the accident.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. This led to delays until police were able to fully clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
