Cumming, GA – Fatal Motorcycle Crash at Buford Dam Rd Intersection
Cumming, GA (July 5, 2021) – At 2:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, July 3, a fatal motorcycle crash occurred at an intersection in Cumming.
According to Forsyth County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Buford Dam Road and Timber Lake Trail. A 24-year-old man was riding his motorcycle in the area when his Yamaha was involved in a forceful collision with a Buick SUV. The Buick was stopped for traffic as it waited for another vehicle to turn. The driver of the motorcycle was unable to stop in time and slammed into the SUV. A Chevrolet Tahoe was unable to stop and also ran into the motorcyclist.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene. The motorcyclist was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of serious injuries. Nobody else was injured in the crash.
Due to the severity of the accident, the area was blocked for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
