Cumming, GA (November 16, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on a highway in Cumming on Tuesday night, November 15.

According to Forsyth County officials, the accident happened on Matt Highway. Police confirmed that a 76-year-old man from Auburn was traveling with his son and attempting to make a delivery. The 76-year-old got out of his delivery truck and started to guide his son into a roadway. While he was doing so, the driver of a Ford Ranger struck him. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The 76-year-old man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was injured as a result of the collision.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes until the scene was cleared.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
