Crawfordville, GA (June 8, 2021) – Around 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, June 5, a man was killed in a camper fire in Crawfordville.

According to the Taliaferro County Fire Department, the fire broke out in a camper on Saggus Road. Fire crews arrived at the scene where they found the camper fully engulfed in flames. It is believed that the fire may have started due to a space heater.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help one victim. However, the victim, identified as a 67-year-old local man, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.

The area was blocked for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
