Covington, GA – Multi-Vehicle Crash at GA-138 & HD Atha Rd
Covington, GA (August 2, 2021) – At 5:30 p.m. on the evening of Monday, August 2, a multi-vehicle crash took place in Covington.
According to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-138 and H.D. Atha Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time. Police urged those in the area to find an alternate route until the scene was cleared.
The investigation into the accident continues.
