Covington, GA – Car Crash at HD Atha Rd & Jersey Social Circle Rd
Covington, GA (July 7, 2021) – At 7 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, a car crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in Covington.
According to Walton County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of HD Atha Road and Jersey Social Circle Road. The driver of a Volvo was traveling north in the area of the intersection when a Chevrolet Silverado collided with it due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles collided head-on, which led to extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene. The driver of the Volvo, identified as a 34-year-old man, was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Silverado, identified as a 38-year-old man, was not hospitalized but had minor injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for some time until police were able to successfully clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
