Cornelia, GA (April 14, 2021) – Around 2:48 p.m. on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 13, a serious car accident occurred at an intersection in Cornelia.

According to Habersham County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of US-441 and GA-15. At the time, a 15-year-old boy was driving a Ford F-150 headed west in the area with his 25-year-old male passenger. He failed to yield at the intersection, which is when his pickup truck collided with a Dodge Durango being driven by a 28-year-old man. An adult passenger and four children were also inside the SUV.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. Seven injured victims were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center and one adult was taken to Habersham Medical Center.

Charges are pending at this time.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
